Today’s topic was inspired by a precious woman named Joanne who began working with me this past week. Joanne was referred to me by a friend of hers because she has been having serious back and shoulder pain and hasn’t been able to find the thing/s she needs to do to get better. Once my evaluation was complete, I sat down with her to explain my findings and summarize what we were going to do to get her back to normal life again.
I told her that what we do at Non-Fiction Fitness has no substitute. I told her that if she does not work to make her muscles function better (i.e. activated, stronger, more flexible, more balanced, etc.) in just the right way, she is failing to unlock a key component of healing that was programmed into her (and all humans) when she was created. I explained to her how making her muscles work better would create an environment for faster healing and would protect the injured tissue from further damage. I demonstrated to her how it was her muscle system that was in charge of doing the things that her body is having trouble doing, and making them work better would lead to those things becoming easier to do again. She understood how this would help her and she was excited to get started.
Before she left, she asked me if there was anything she could start doing at home to help her as well. After speaking with her about this, I realized that I needed a simple way to explain to people what the most important things are that they can do to help themselves heal faster and reduce pain. After a short time of prayer and thought, I realized that I should make a chart that reveals each component piece of the puzzle. Once I did, I sent the chart to a graphic artist to help make it more colorful. I must say, I like it. I like it a lot. I think it definitely does its job to tell you what to do to get better faster and it’s only 1 page long.
Would you like to see it?
I figured you would.
Here is a link that you can click on to download it for free-> Essential Tools For Musculoskeletal Health and Healing
Once you look at the information on the chart, you might have some questions about how you can use these tools to help your own body. Over the next few months I will be teaching online classes on these topics on selected Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m.
